Fall Class Schedule | 2019

Fall registration deadline is August 23rd, 2019.
Fall tuition must be paid in full by September 1st, 2019.
Fall Session Dates: September 3rd through December 14th.

Registration – $25, non-refundable

Schedule: Students will participate in weekly sessions beginning the first week of September until the second week of December (Sharing Day Week). 

Monday: GUITAR (4:00 PM) | CHILDREN’S CHOIR (4:45 PM)
Tuesday: VIOLIN (4:30 PM) | CELLO (6:00 PM)
Wednesday: UKULELE (4:00 PM)
Thursday:  PIANO (3:45 PM; 4:45 PM; 5:45 PM; 6:45 PM)| VOICE (6:30 PM)
Friday: VIOLIN (4:00 PM)

GUITAR

Guitar I – 3rd through 12th Grade
Beginners
Monday, 4:00 pm
14 Sessions; $175, non-refundable

Description:

This course is intended for children in 3rd through 7th Grades who have some to none experience with the guitar. Instructor will group students according to skill level. A new class section may open if needed. Weekly group lessons will take place for the duration of 14 weeks to ensure level mastery and retention. Students who complete this course can register for Guitar II for 3rd through 12th grade offered in the spring semester.

CHILDREN’S CHOIR

Students in 4th through 6th Grade*
Monday, 4:45 pm – 6:45 pm
12 Sessions, $115 (regular public) or $75 (Kitty Stone students or current JSU Music Academy students), non-refundable

Description:

This is a fun vocal ensemble for students in 4th through 6th who love to sing! Each weekly session aims to enhance students’ music knowledge, ear training, and sight-singing while exploring age-appropriate choral repertory. * Older or younger students may participate at the discretion of the instructor. VIOLIN

Violin I – 3rd through 12th Grade
Beginners
Tuesday, 4:30-7:00 pm
Friday, 4:00-7:00 pm
14 Sessions; $175, non-refundable

Description:

This course is intended for children in  3rd through 12th Grades who have little to no experience playing the violin. Weekly group lessons will take place for the duration of 14 weeks to ensure level mastery and retention. Students will be assigned a slot during these times and will work with the instructor individually.  Students will join together for a group session monthly.  Students who successfully complete this course can register for Violin II for 3rd through 12th grade offered in the spring semester.

Violin Beyond – 3rd through 12th Grade
Tuesdays, 5:30 pm
Friday, 4:00-7:00 pm
14 Sessions; $175, non-refundable

Description:

This course is intended for students who have completed Violin I and beyond or their equivalent. Instructor will group students according to skill level. Weekly group lessons will take place for the duration of 14 weeks to ensure level mastery and retention. Students will be assigned a slot during these times and will work with the instructor individually.  Students will join together for a group session monthly.  Students who successfully complete this course can register for Violin Beyond offered in the spring semester.

CELLO

Cello I – 4th Grade and Beyond

This course is intended for children in  4th through 12th Grades who have limited experience playing the cello. Weekly group lessons will take place for the duration of 14 weeks to ensure level mastery and retention. Students who successfully complete this course can register for Cello II for offered in the spring semester.

PIANO

Piano Fundamentals I – Pre-K through 1st Grade

Description:

This course is intended for children in Pre-K through 1st Grade who would like to learn music fundamentals by exploring the piano. Weekly 45-minute sessions will take place for the duration of 14 weeks, with an individual session with an instructor the last week of each month to ensure level mastery, proper technique, and retention. Students who successfully complete this course can register for the Piano Fundamentals II course offered in the spring semester. * Students who have not completed Piano Fundamentals I may be eligible to register for this class upon approval of instructor. Piano I – 2nd through 6th Grade

Description:

This course is intended for students in 2nd through 6th Grades who are beginning piano. It is also appropriate for students who have completed Piano Fundamentals or its equivalent. Weekly 45-minute sessions will take place for the duration of 14 weeks, with an individual session with an instructor the last week of each month to ensure level mastery, proper technique, and retention. Students who successfully complete this course can register for Piano II offered in the spring semester. * Students who have not completed Piano I may be eligible to register for this class upon approval of instructor. Piano Beyond – 1st through 6th Grade
Experienced Beginners

10 Group Sessions, 4 Private Instruction Sessions (15 Minutes)
$175, non-refundable

Description:

This course is intended for students in 1st through 6th Grades who have completed one or more years of piano instruction. This group focuses on more advanced piano repertoire and concepts. Weekly 45-minute sessions will take place for the duration of 14 weeks, with an individual session with an instructor the last week of each month to ensure level mastery, proper technique, and retention. Students who successfully complete this course can register for Piano Beyond offered in the spring semester.

Exploring Piano I  – Teens and Adults
First-Time Beginners
Thursday, 6:30 PM
14 Sessions; $175, non-refundable

Description:

This course is intended for teens and adults who have had some to little experience at the piano. A great beginner course for teens wishing to enter a music program in the future or for adults who would like to learn basic piano skills. Weekly group lessons will take place for the duration of 14 weeks to ensure level mastery and retention. Students who successfully complete this course can register for the Exploring Piano II course for teens and adults offered in the spring semester.* Students who have not completed Exploring Piano I may be eligible to register for this class upon approval of instructor. VOICE

Voice I – 6th through 12th Grade

Description:

This course is intended for students in 6th through 12th Grades who have had little to no experience with formal voice lessons. Weekly group lessons will take place for the duration of 14 weeks. Students may enroll in individual voice lessons with the instruction upon completing one year of study. Students who successfully complete this course can register for Voice II offered in the spring semester.
